Evolución de las estrategias de intervención sobre morbilidad y mortalidad materna severa: un enfoque bibliométrico

Resumen

El presente estudio aborda la evolución de las estrategias de intervención frente a la morbilidad y mortalidad materna severa mediante un enfoque bibliométrico, analizando publicaciones científicas indexadas en Scopus entre 1979 y 2025. A partir de una búsqueda estructurada basada en PRISMA, se identificaron 142 documentos relevantes, publicados en 97 fuentes. Entre los principales hallazgos temáticos se destacan cuatro clústeres: (1) el impacto de la influenza y otras infecciones virales en la salud materno-perinatal, subrayando la necesidad de intervenciones preventivas y marcos estructurales inclusivos; (2) las estrategias clínicas y operativas frente a la hemorragia posparto en países de ingresos bajos y medios, donde protocolos como el Massive Transfusion Protocol han demostrado efectividad; (3) los factores epidemiológicos y socioeconómicos asociados a la morbilidad materna severa, evidenciando desigualdades estructurales que requieren un enfoque multisectorial; y (4) el impacto de la pandemia de COVID-19, que visibilizó barreras sistémicas, sesgos de género y falencias en la respuesta sanitaria. El estudio resalta la utilidad de herramientas y las auditorías clínicas para mejorar la calidad asistencial. En definitiva, los resultados enfatizan la necesidad de fortalecer la cooperación global, adaptar estrategias a contextos locales y avanzar hacia sistemas de salud equitativos y resilientes, centrados en los derechos humanos y la justicia sanitaria.
